We are pleased to announce that the new version of EN-ISO 27269 :2025 has now been published by CEN, marking an important milestone in the quest for harmonised and interoperable health data exchange across Europe. More information on the standard can be found here: CEN – CEN/TC 251. We encourage all parties involved in health informatics, interoperability, and digital health infrastructure to become familiar with EN-ISO 27269.
In addition to this the Joint Initiative Council IPS Coordination Committee (IPSCC) rolled out a change proposal process to facilitate greater community involvement in the ongoing development of the IPS, which is a standardized set of basic clinical data that includes the most important health and care related facts required to ensure safe and secure healthcare, particularly across borders. Change proposals can include improvements and fixes to existing IPS standards, enhancements to the scope of the standards, or the addition of new standards to enable the implementation and use of the IPS.

IPSCC membership includes, but is not limited to, representation from: CEN/TC 251, HL7 International, IHE International, ISO/TC 215 and SNOMED International.
All stakeholders are encouraged to propose changes based on their real world experience with the IPS. Such proposed changes can include, improvements and corrections to existing IPS standards, enhancements to the scope of standards, or the addition of new standards to suppot
the implementation and use of the IPS.
